My cousin, Lewis Jones Williams, was born 1892, in Corris, Merioneth, Wales, to John Williams and Catherine (nee Jones). Catherine died in March or April 1894. Lewis Jones Williams enlisted in the Royal Welsh Fusiliers in September 1914. In mid 1916, he was transferred to the Royal Engineers Light Railway Compnies, where he remained till March 1919, being discharged with the rank of sergeant. In May or June 1916, he married Ellen Elizabeth Burgess, born circa 1887; his address then was given as 17 or 88 Artizan Road, Northampton. No children as far as I'm aware. A check of the Northampton electoral rolls for 1920 to 1935 shows no trace of them at either address (the road still exists). I have his Army records, which don't show any pension details. Checks for deaths of either Lewis or Ellen don't show anything (or I need to go to Specsavers). At this point, the trail goes cold, so I'm wondering if they could have emigrated. Checks there have (so far) revealed nothing. So, if anyone is able to shed any light on this cousin, I'd be most grateful. The combination of the names Lewis Jones Williams are, by the way, fairly uncommon, even in Wales. There IS a Lewys Jones Williams, who was killled in action in 1915, but the parentage is wrong, as is the occupation. Many thanks, William.
