I wonder if anyone knows if the 1911 Census on Ancestry.co.uk is the final version, an index, or an intermediate format? It shows very little information compared with the previous versions and is not a lot of use as it is.
Thanks,
Mike.

Hi Mike
Welcome to Ancestryaid. The version of the 1911 census on Ancestry is in the process of being transcribed and in time will have all the data we all look for; however in the meantime the most detailed version of the 1911 census is available on the pay for view or subscription site Findmypast.co, or 1911census.co Because of copyright issues, members of Ancestryaid cannot do lookup of the 1911 census and post the information on the site.
Have you found the people you are searching for in 1901?
Brian
Thanks Brian, I rather thought that may be the case.
We have all the 1901 info we need now; we were just looking on the 1911 one for double checks.
Mike.
Hello
You may find that you need to wait until January 2012 when I understand the full census will be released in January 2012 on other sites, if curiosity and if you cannot wait until then, why not look at the PPV site 1911census.co.uk!
Hi Elsabels; luckily we don't have need of the site at the moment; we're back in the late 1700s-early 1800s at the moment; pity they didn't have censuses then; makes it a lot harder, and many people didn't seem to worry about paperwork or accuracy in those days. But we are slowly getting there.
Mike.
