Thread: Leiutenant Benjamin Clare

Hi all
I'm trying to find Leiutenant Benjamin Clare born around 1790 in Claremont, Meath, Ireland. He married in 1881 in London a Mary Wahab, his only child, Georgiana was born in Ireland in 1822. I haven't been able to find his birth or what or where he was between these dates and him appearing as a widower in the 1861 census of London. I'm trying to find out if he was a brother of Captain Joshua Clare of Kells who is quite well documented.

Can you confirm the year dates, you seem to have the Lieutenant marrying when he is 91 I know it is a typo, but cannot work out what it should be!

Found the marriage on line at Ancestry.....witnesses appear to be Church 'Officials'

There is a burial for a Benjamin CLARE of 3rd Warwicks at the Chelsea Royal Hospital aged 46 on 28th November 1838
