Hopefully someone can help with the family enigma!

My Great grandfather has had me banging my head off brick walls for many years. Very little is known about him, even my gran (his daughter) barely knew him or even where he came from. He was known to lie about his age and various aspects of his life, so the only thing I know is true is that he emigrated to Canada taking my grans full brother Sidney with him.

This is the information i have.

Walter Bowness born 1887 possibly in liverpool ?? unconfirmed
Married widow Sarah Binks (nee Davies) 1912 in Warrington (I have seen the marriage certificate) (Sarah was the first female Licensee in warrington and ran an off license in the bank quay area.)

Son Sidney born 1914 died in canada 1971
Daughter Doris Born 1920 died warrington 2003

He is included on the ships manifest for the Olympic, but his age is dubious!! We know this is him as we have a poscard sent from the Olympic to my great grandma - This was his first trip to canada, he emigrated permanantly around 1930 Sidney was 15 (we know he lied about Sids age too when he took him over)

Because the man was such a walter mitty character it's been extremeley difficult for me to dig up anything about him. i know as much as my gran knew and could tell me, which is very little.

If anyone could help I would appreciate it.
