    Exclamation George Percy Hammersley

Hi My brick Wall is my Great Grandfather

I can find my Great Grandfather George Percy Hammersley on the 1911 1901 Census and his marriage to Lydia Cecil in December 1900 where his age states he is 23 making his birth year 1877/8 I have searched and searched but I cannot find any record of his birth, which on the 1911 cenus the place of birth is stated as Finchley the 1901 census is blank! His father Joseph Hammersley is shown as living with him on the 1911 cenus and on the 1901 census he appears as Joseph Hammerly living in Walthamstow, which again is strange as he appears as "head", but on the previous page of the cenus he appears to be living with a Frank Seymour. I am sure this is the correct Joseph Hammersely as Frank Seymour is a relative of his sons wifes Step family. Again I can find no record of Joseph prior to this. on the 1911 census his birth town is stated as Croydon. I do not know my great grandfathers mothers name, as I know this would help. Joseph died in 1931 and his son George died in Kensington in 1936.

Any help would be so much appreciated as I've been stuck on this for near on 12 months

    Thank you
    Sarah

Joseph in 1861 (I'm guessing you have access to census returns) RG9; Piece: 132; Folio: 41; Page: 17

If you need the census details I can post them, just say.

I don't think Joseph is living with the Seymour's, they maybe at the same address but in different units; the census schedule numbers are different eg Seymour's 81, Joseph 82.
