Military service record 6th Royal Warwick Regiment, and 1911 / 1901 census info.

Hello, can anyone please tell me where and if I can find military service information on an individual soldier? I have the following information taken from his marriage certificate:

Name: Thomas Wall, date of marriage: 6th November 1917, age: 21, residence: Small Heath, Birmingham, father's name: Thomas, occupation: Soldier, No. 240185, Private 2nd, 6th Royal Warwick Regiment.

I've been unable to prove his birth on freeBMD as there are several people with this name born in the Birmingham area around 1896, and I'm only assuming he was born there anyway. I can't access the 1901 to see if there is only one 5 year-old Thomas living with a father of the same name in the Small Heath area, or better as its nearer to his marriage date I suppose, the 1911 census with a 15-year old Thomas son of Thomas.

There are two Thomas Wall (s) in the 1901 census which might fit your Thomas. Do you know if he had sibblings and if so their names. What was the name of his wife? did he have a middle name?

If I was to purchase the two possible birth certificates then I still wouldn't be able to distinguish which one is the correct one as both Thomas's have fathers called Thomas. Likewise, the 1901 census gives me two to choose from. Can you tell me if the military service details would include a home address or mother's name? My Thomas married Amy Douglas in Nov 1917 but this info. doesn't help. Thomas's father Thomas Wall snr.'s occupation was listed as Cab Driver on the marriage certificate. I don't know the names of any of Thomas's siblings and no middle name is recorded. He fathered one daughter with his wife Amy (Iris Esther Wall born 14 Sep 1919). Family info passed down about Thomas is scant but it seems Thomas left Amy in Oxfordshire and possibly returned to Birmingham shortly before or after Iris' birth never to be seen again. I'm not aware of any divorce having taken place. Any ideas?
