Thread: THOMAS DAMS

Researching DAMS - mainly from Lincolnshire or Cambridgeshire. Stuck at THOMAS DAMS born ca 1780 - possibly not Lincs. Any help / advice will be most appreciated

I have details of his marriage and children and also his death etc but need to find out where he was born. Copies of Marriage and Death certificates have not given me any further info. Below is what I know :

THOMAS DAMS (seen mispelt as DAMES)

Born March 12th 1779 to March 11th 1780 ?

Married Sarah Leatherland 27 Aug 1804, Holbeach, Lincs. Banns published 2 Aug 1804 - both of this Parish (recorded as DAMES) - Gedney Hill Chapel / Minister John Dinham in presence of William Norman.

1841 : Census (6th June) : age 60yrs?

1851 : Census (30th March) : age 70yrs - widower living with son Thomas at Dogs Drove, Holbeach Drove, Lincs.

1859 : Died 11th March 1859 aged 79yrs at Union Workhouse, Holbeach (laryngitis / old age). Funeral service on 14th March 1859 at All Saints Church, Holbeach but probably buried at new town cemetery, Park Road.
