Thread: ALRENA Maunder

My brick wall is in finding the youngest daughter of my great, great grandfather and his second wife. I have search the BMDs and emigration lists but have been unable to find her after the 1901 census.
Her name was ALRENA Maunder, born on 4th January 1893 at Thorn Cottage, St. Cleer, Cornwall. The daughter of John and Jemima Maunder ( Henwood ).
In the 1901 census she was at Railway Terrace, St. Cleer wrongly transcribed as ALENA, along with John and Jemima wrongly transcribed as Jamima, and brother Daniel.
Several of my Maunder family emigrated to America and I have successfully traced all of those plus the ones that remained in Cornwall. But Alrena remains a total mystery to me.
I have been searching for over 6 years now and would very much appreciate any help that you can give.

Jemima declares on a later census she is a widow 8 children 5 living! She also has a granddaughter Constance MAUNDER b 1906

Daniel leaves Southampton on the St Paul bound for New York hwere he arrives on 27/08/1904 he is shown as a miner 19 proceeding to Amador California, immediatley above him is an entry for Preston BEST aged 20 also from Liskeard and bound for Amador....Gold diggers?

I wonder if this is the marriage with Alrena mistranscribed? The above death certificate may be revealing!

There were 8 children of the marriage, the only deceased I can find are Mary E & Daniel, do you know who the 3rd was?
Could it have been Arlena?
