Thread: Mc evoy's of liverpool

Im trying to find my great grand parents for quite a while now ane totally have hit a brick wall with the mc evoy's side of the family.
They appear only on the 1911 census, living in birkett street, off st anne street liverpool.
Im looking for joseph mc evoy [ born 1884] married to annie hares [1885], but on all her childrens birth certificates her maiden name his highton even though she's not put down as a widow. They where living at circus street previous.
His parents were joseph [1856 ?] died in a liverpool poor house 1898 married to ellen
maiden name not known, she died at highfield infirmary, knotty ash 1914 spendin her later years also inthe poor house.these dont appear at all in any census at all but i would love to find this one and ellen's maiden name. Thankyou paul

Do you know whether Joseph was of the Roman Catholic faith? If so, here's a possible baptism, the only one I can find with a mother Ellen. The year is a couple of years out, and his name was Laurence Joseph Mcevoy, but I have instances in my ancestry where some preferred to use their middle name. Anyway it's worth consideration.
