Thread: Sarah Mumby born abt. 1833

Could anyone please tell me if Sarah Mumby is in the 1851 census? They were from Lincolnshire, Eng. and I am trying to find her parents. She married Edward Dobbs in 1854 in Louth, Lincolnshire.

If I have the right Sarah as a married woman in later census, she was born in Laceby, is this correct? If so, as yet I haven't definitely pinned her down in 1851, however this could be her in 1841. All named MUMBY, all born in county except Ann snr. Living Laceby.

James Mumby 30, Ag Lab, Ann 35, John 11, SARAH 9, Ann 6, Andrew 3, Charlotte 3, Mary 5 months.

Here's the marriage.

Sarah Mumby, born 1832, father James Mumby, married Edward Dobbs, born 1832, father James Dobbs.

St. Mary, Binbrook, Lincs, Eng, 1854.

Yes, that's the family, oh thank you so much. I have a formal picture of Sarah Mumby Dobbs that a relative just sent me. I didn't know her maiden name before. This is wonderful.

YOu can find the maiden name of Ann MUMBY by purchasing the birth certificate of one of the children born after 1 July 1837 from GRO.gov.uk at a cost of £9.25

check ou the site Freebmd.org.uk for registration district and reference
