Default The Brick Wall in My Family Tree, John Grundell

Hi I am looking for the parents of my G G G Grandfather. I have been searching for some time but have had little luck. Below is all the information I know of John Grundell

John was sent to Australia as a convict in 1847. He was born in Hetford and married vefor being transported to Australia. He already had two children and a number of partitions and court procedings took place to stop the transportations. In Australia met a young Irish girl, Elizabeth Byrnes, and were soon married in 1850.

I have looked in the convict registry and found his information but little luck finding out further from that who his parents are. Hoping that finding his parents will be the key to trace my family back further to get an idea of where i come from.

    Hi Binkey,

I've carried out a search on the site I use, and your John Grundell appears on quite a few family trees. They have his parents as John Grundell b. 1791- d. 1869, and Susanna Cawdell. However, I cannot find find anything else to back this up.

Hertford Quarter sessions is written on the convict sheet so that's well worth tracing as Elsabels has listed above
