    Default Henry Holl

Trying to find my G.G.Grandfather's Birth and Marriage.

He was born 1809 in Monmouth, Wales. I have found a record of his baptism, which said - 25th June 1809
@ Llanvair, Monmouth, but no mention of father or mother.

I have found him married to a Sarah Fagan (b.1813) @ St James, Westminster, London on 31st August 1837, and his children in census's (that is where i got his birth place from). Needless to say i cannot find anything else

Any advise or help would be really appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Katy

    Hello

Have you got the 1841 census HO107 722 16 where he is shown as a publican with a dau Eleanor 10 mths which sates he was not born in the county of Middlesex!

He was born 1809 in Monmouth, Wales. I have found a record of his baptism, which said - 25th June 1809
@ Llanvair, Monmouth, but no mention of father or mother
Have you seen the original baptism entry? If not you need to look at the parish record made at the time of the event, Check out the tool bar on the familysearch.org site for the nearest centre to you!

have found him married to a Sarah Fagan (b.1813) @ St James, Westminster, London on 31st August 1837, and his children in census's (that is where i got his birth place from
If you have the marriage certificate this will show his fathers' name...hopefully

What else do you need to know about Henry HOLL b circa 1809 Monmouth?

    Thank you 'Elsabels'

I knew he was a publican, i even looked up the old pub lol, just to see if they had any record of him, but the pub with the address that i had does not exist anymore.

Have not got a marriage certificate as yet, hopefully i will be going to London within the next 2 months and i will get one there.

It would be brilliant if you could find out if he had any siblings, but only if you have the time, i know there are a lot of people asking for assistance when we all get stuck ( and i thank you sincerely for the help)

    Many Many Thanks

    Katy

Have not got a marriage certificate as yet, hopefully i will be going to London within the next 2 months and i will get one there.
I thought they all needed to be purchased via GRO.gov.uk at £9.25, unless you were prepared to pay
Check costings out at this site, usually it is £9.25 order on line GRO.gov.uk

Why purchase when you can view the register and only probably pay photocopy?
