Default Walden & Rylatt Essex UK

I am up against the BIGGEST brickwall that is stumping me.
    1) John Rylatt (Born in Sleaford 1865) an Engine Driver wed Sarah Ann Walden (born 28 July in Barking Essex 1868)
27 Sept 1885 Great Ilford Essex(GRO marriage cert.)
2)Then had a son named William Henry Rylatt 28 Aug 1886 at 6 Glenny Rd Barking Essex(GRO Birth Cert.)
    3) Baptised 19 Nov 1886 St Mary Barking Essex (From SEAX & Mormon site)
4)John Rylatt sometime before 12 Sept 1887 Joins the Royal Engineers South Submarine Mining Militia Army number 79.( Plymouth Uk Division) using the name of John Scott. !!!!!!!
    5) 12 Dec 1887 enlisted in the Liverpool Regiment from the R.E Militia at Mannamead Plymouth stating he was SINGLE
    6) Serves in India from 1888 for 7 years. While in the Liverpool Regiment transferes to the 2nd Derbyshire Regiment.. (Army Records showing his alias )
    7) Weds my grandmother 15 October 1896 in Liverpool Uk stating he was a Batchelor!!
    8) GRO indexs show NO deaths of Sarah Ann or William Henry either Walden or Rylatt
    9) 1891 or 1901 census has no Sarah or William using Walden or Rylatt surnames
I am assuming Sarah and son changed their names to hide or John Rylatt changed his name to hide from his family either motive I need help in finding Sarah and William ..
    Thank you
    Ray

Possible death for Sarah on FreeBMD - Sarah Rylatt 23yrs Dec qtr 1891 at Rotherham Derbyshire or Yorkshire.
Note also on christening record for son in 1886, he was named as William John Rylatt.
No wonder you are having problems. What a mess.

Sarah Rylatt of Rotherham when searching her record I found she was NOT the same Lady, she was a coincidence..Since your reply I found out the child William Henry Rylatt/Walden was taken into a child's home about 1887 !! The Child Care organisation in question are still looking for the record they seem to have mislaid somewhere although the name is in there Data base SIGH!!
    Thanks for your reply

Ray - Just a quick note which might possibly go somewhere. FreeBMD produced the marriages of a number of Sarah Ann Rylatt's, because I thought she might also have re-married. However, the precise partner is not known - one marriage was in 1889 [registered in Doncaster] - and I've also found a possible candidate (for Sarah) born in 1862 so that's probably a non-starter - sorry!
John and your grandmother (Martha?) were in the Bootle area in 1901, and in the West Derby area [of Liverpool] in 1911. I haven't checked the actual census returns which might yield more detail.

Thank you for your interests I do have all the Censuses for the Rylatts there is nothing to give me any more clues..
Something happened in Barking Essex after the christening of 19 Nov 1886 abode 6 Glenny Rd the son's birth was 28 Aug 1886 at 6 Glenny Rd Barking.(according to SEAX)
What ever it was John Rylatt decided it was not worth hanging around to take responsibities or become involved so he scampered away and changed his name etc..
I am still waiting for *AskUS* at action for children for the record of why William Henry Rylatt was taken into a Children Home ..no date or details was given, only the name is in their Data base but they cant find the actual record..
at this moment all I have is John Scott an Alias for John Rylatt who was in the Royal Engineers Submarine Mining Militia Plymouth division before enlisting in the Liverpool Regiment 1887 using the name john Scott!! ( bought into the *FindMyPast* Militia they have on line but the John Scotts were not mine Sigh
I am on edge waiting for an answer ..I hate this waiting but it seems they are the only Clue I have..as for Sarah Ann Rylatt nee Walden she seems to either not to particapte in the censuses or changed her name as well or worse still
in trouble with the law in 1887 . I am at the point of ordering the marriages of all the sarah (Ann) Rylatt or Walden after I check the husbands name against the 1901 census to eliminate the wrong Sarahs :=)
    Thanks
    Ray
