ROSS FAMILY
Caroline Ross (daughter of William Ross) married Thomas Norman in Guernsey, Channel Islands in 1813. Her father was William Ross, then of 5th R.V. Battalion. There was a W. Ross who served both in the 5th RV Battalion and the 1st Foot. This William was born in the parish of Creagh (now Creich), Sutherland in around 1759. My block relates both to William's ancestors, his wife and family more generally (e.g when and where was Caroline born?). Very grateful for any assistance.

Many thanks for the reference.
I have a marriage record 'extract' (hence the reference to William) and a later register entry for the birth of a son (Solomon). There is a TN baptised at the age of 30 in Romsey and an as yet unseen parish register record of a burial. I have also got a copy of TN's WO 97. I have no other details for Caroline.

The Romsey register, unfortunately, helped little. There was a TN buried on 11/4/1830, aged 42 (hence born around 1788), but no relative given. And a Caroline N buried 23/10/1831 (aged 33, born around 1798) but again nothing else.
