Dr James Moncur was my Great x 3 Grandfather the only information I have of him is he married Margaret Guthrie 12th October 1828. I have no date or place of birth. He and Margaret are listed in the 1841 for Stonehaven census as being 30! but Margaret was born 1807 ! they had a son George Guthrie Moncur b 1832 but he does not appear on the 1841 census with them but does appear aged 8 with a Margaret Moncur aged 55. Both James and Margaret disappear from the 1851 census and leave George with Margarets sister Isolbella Buchan in Glasgow in 1851. But what happened to them, did they emigrate, if so to where?, also who were James's parents ? I have plenty of information on the Guthries back to 1693 and can trace my roots from today to George Guthrie Moncur b1832 then the brick-wall. any information however small may help me advance my research.
