Thread: ellen Pavis--daughter of Mary tilley and Thomas Pavis

My great great aunt was born in Kent in the late 1840's to Thomas and Mary Tilley Pavis.She had three brothers, Joseph, Thomas and Edward and sisters Charlotte and Sarah. All of whom came to Connecticut in the mid 1800;s. Ellen married one of the Wraight brothers and also on record is a husband John Hawkes. A census in 1890 in Connecticut has her married to John Hawkes and living with her husband, two sons and her mother, my great great grandmother. Ellen is never heard of again. Family stories have her returning to England. did she go back to her first husband??? when did she die and where?

forward to 1891 there is a census that has Ellen WRAIGHT b 1852 Gravesend Kent with children Percy / Frederick/ Elizabeth/Ernest/Ann/Ellen/Henry I do not think this is your relative

It appears one of the brothers was Naturalized on 29/03/1887 have you acquires a copy of the documents, v1 page 491 Newhaven Conn
