Thread: 1841 Census Look-Up Please

Please could I request a 1841 census look-up for James Bowler who was born in about 1811 +/- 2 years in Albury, Surrey. I think he must have been living in Albury at the time. He was already married to Olivia at the time and had two sons Charles born 1838 and James born 1840.

I had no joy on the 1841. so tried 1851. I found which maybe the second husband of Olivia, John Holt. B. 1824. Albury. Wife Olivia. B 1817. Shadford.
Children. Charles Bowler. B 1838 Albury. Stated First son of first husband. James Bowler B .1840.Albury. Sarah Bowler. 1842.Albury. Oliver. ( Olive) Bowler B. 1843 Albury

Baptisms. Charles. Parents James and Olive. 6. May 1838 .Albury. James. Same Parents. 19 Jan 1840 Albury. Sarah Bowler. same Parents. 20 Feb 1842 Albury.
I could not find Baptism for the last child Oliver or Olive. B 1843. Hope this is a help to you.

Thank you so much for your prompt replies. I wonder if it's possible to see whether there were any other Bowlers, i.e. parents, grandparents, etc. living in the neighbourhood or on the farm. I know that James' father was called William, but I have several to chose from.

Thank you for that, but I have his marriage certificate showing that his father was William Bowler, a labourer. The censuses show that he was born in Albury and also married and died there. I think his father may have been the William Bowler born 1783 to Charles and Mary, but I cannot be certain as there is no proof. Furthermore, I have found a death entry in the Albury parish registers for an infant William Bowler for Feb., 1784, and am wondering whether this was the one born 1783 or maybe another William Bowler. It's all a mystery.
