I have Joseph Henry Gardiner born 22 sept 1898 London (bermondsey i think).

found him in 1901 living bermondsey, rotherhithe, age 2. with parents Frederick & Jane.

frederick Gardiner , head, c1871 Bermondsey - occ. XXX Labourer.
jane, wife, c1872
frederick, son c1895.
john , son c1897
joseph , son c1899.

there was 3 daughters too, but i dont have their names yet.

I cant find Joseph Henrys Birth 1898/9, cant find parents marriage.. (i think it could be Jane NOLAN - there is a marriage to Frederick GARDNER dec qtr 1893 st olave). cant find him in 1891.

There is a Joseph Henry Gardner - birth registered Oct/Dec quarter 1898, St Olave Southwark Reg. District.

Vol. 1d Page 219 refers.

GROOM: Frederick GARDNER 22, bachelor, Leather Finisher, of 24 Marigold Street,
Father: Frederick GARDNER (deceased), Brick Layer
BRIDE: Jane NOLAN 21, spinster, of same address
Father: James NOLAN (deceased), Leather Finisher
Frederick signed his name (spelled as GARDNER). Jane made her X mark
Witness: George JOHNSON & Elizabeth JOHNSON, both signed by their X mark.

Did you notice there is a NOLAN family living in the same dwelling (and there are just these 2 families, the GARD(I)NER & NOLAN's in there) as Frederick & Jane in 1901? Possibly Jane's older brother: Dennis NOLAN 32, Bricklayer, his wife Jane 28, dau Jane 6 & son James 1. All born Bermondsey.
