Hi guys please help me find information on my great great grandmothers family. She was born Jane Grant and married Donald Bain on the 25th January 1866 by the Roman Catholic Clergyman in Glenlivet in Auchbreck parish, Banff. Janes father was James Grant, a farmer and resided at Croftbain, Glenlivet and her mother was Margaret Anderson. I am trying to find out about the Grant side of the family. Working on the 1841 census and the eldest child's age this could be James and Margaret's marriage. You need to look on the parish records to confirm this and hopefully get their parents names.

I found 3 James Grants born in Inveravon, Banff, 1791 1800 1801 so could not work out which was your James.
