Exclamation Amelia Amphlett did she exist? Big Help Please

I am trying to discover the ancestry of Amelia Amphlett my friend' grandmother.

The only information I have in certificate form is her marriage to William Arthur Hayward 11 February 1941 aged 57 years.

She states on the cert that she is a spinster daughter of Alfred Amphlett (deceased).

She appears on the 1911 census as Amy Wright with husband George Wright living in Nottingham with daughter Marion born Gloucester 1910. (my friend's mother). Another child Alfred Wright is with William Arthur Hayward and his wife Emily Prosser in Gloucester born 1906 in London as a visitor. On this Census it states that she had been married 7 years and was aged 28 born in Fulham. Husband George Wright aged 42 born Birmingham.

My dilemma is this, She cannot be found on any other Census and I have searched under many derivations of the name Amelia and Amphlett. i cannot find an Alfed Amphlett who was supposedly a master builder. I have searched in overseas Births and marriages with no success I cannot find a marriage to George Wright anywhere.

I have never reached such a brick wall so early in the research, any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards

I thought this was worth running by you as it is Gloucester

    Marriages Dec 1878
    AMPHLETT Amy Gloucester 6a/535
    WILLIAMS Leonard Gloucester 6a/535

They are easily traced census wise but can't see a possible Amy/Amelia to help with your search

    Hello

As you know we are unable to do '1911 look ups', however can you confirm some of the information off that census quoted above please, names and places of birth

You do not indicate whether you have purchased either of the children's birth certificates b 1905 & 1910, these may be necessary in the continued absence of a marriage to George Wright asa they should give the mothers maiden name, it could be that she was a widow on marrying George.

As the son is geographically seperated from his parents, have you considered the possibility that there is a connection with the PROSSER family it is more likley that a child would eb sent to stay with a sister.....
