Thread: John Clark - Grocer and Wine Merchant Newington Edinburgh early 1900s

Is there any way I can find out my Great Grandfathers business. He was a Grocer and Wine Merchant in the Newington area of Edinburgh in the early 1900s. Are there any records kept about who had business premises where and when?

It's very likely he carried on his business - quite a common home 'trade' in the day - from the same place he lived at, which in 1901 I see was at 9 Moncrieff Terrace. Photos of the building at that address look like it's probably the same structure as then, and can be googled up. One is:

You can see if you can bring uip a reference to him in the Edinbugh Gazette (though I didn't find anything)
