Thread: Georgina Hawkes in 1901 census.

Hello everyone,
My great Grandmother married for the second time.
She and her Husband then lived in Strensham, Worcestershire. She was Harriet and her husband was Peter Hawkes. In the 1901 census along with them and daughters there was a Georgina living with them too. What i would like to know is what relationship is Georgina to Peter and Harriet?

Also does Georgina show up on any index for 1911?

According to the original census document she was granddaughter to the head of the household, Peter Hawkes, so either granddaughter or step g/daughter to Harriet, depending on when they married.

My Great Granmother's maiden nam was Bourne and her first marriage was to Samuel Stone who died in Peterborough.

FreeBMD - Georgina Hawkes born June quarter 1897, Pershore Reg. District. Vol. 6c Page 332 refers.

England and Wales Christening Records - Georgiana (sic) Hawkes, christened 2nd May 1897, Strensham, Worcestershire. Mother Emily Hawkes.

It would appear she was the illegitimate daughter of Emily Hawkes, who appears as a married woman (Emily Knight) in Peter and Harriet's household, in 1901.

Emily Hawkes married Joseph Knight, September quarter 1900, Pershore Reg. District. Vol. 6c Page 623 refers.
