Thread: James Samuel Peppit

James Samuel Peppit
Looking for birth and death and census record of James Samuel Peppit. Unfortunately, I have nothing to go on.

He married Louisa Byres (born c. 1843, Barking, Essex) on 22nd December 1860 in the church of St Boltolph, Aldgate, Middlesex. He was 'full age' (which is helpful!) and a Mariner. His father is stated as James Samuel Peppit, occupation Butcher. Addresses at time of marriage for both is 'Aldgate'.

James jnr doesn't appear on the 1861, 1871, 1881 with his wife, Louisa-presumably he's away at sea. She is missed off the 1891 census (I think the enumerator forgot to write her name down!). Her daughter Jane Peppit and grandchildren Ethel May Peppit, Lousia Hansford and Archibald Hansford are on there. James isn't on the 1901 census either and Louisa is a widow.

I am also unable to find James Jnr prior to his marriage and cannot find his father either. I am assuming that James jnr was born around 1840, going purely by his wife's D.O.B.

According to the 1881 census Louisa is a widow and living at 13, Milton Terr Tower Street, Gt Yarmouth.
Her son William H Peppit is at the same address occ fisherman.
