Thread: Gale tree help please

I have hit a brick wall with my tree. I am researching the Gale family and the earliest ancestor I can find is my great, great great grandfather William Gale b.1820 in Husthwaite, Yorkshire and he was married to Elizabeth Gale b.1825 in Knayton, Yorkshire. Their children were John Gale b.1848, George Gale b.1850, Jane Gale b.1846, Wiliam Gale b.1861 and Ann Gale b.1862. I would appreciate any help anyone can give.

To move back, you need to establish the date of marriage to Elizabeth and the date of birth of the first child.

The marriage certificate ( or if married in church) will give you the name of the respective father's, jobs maybe witnesses who are family members.
First born child will give an indication of the year of marriage.

Hello My great great great grandma was jayne hildred who had two children out of wedlock, in the 1861 census she was married to William Gale. I have a birthday book with several members of the Gale family mentioned. I will give you more details on your request. Hope this helps Sylvia Robinson
