Help with research on my grandfather

Hi,

I am looking for help with researching my grandfather. His name is Joseph Robert Rodriguez. He was born on 25 April 1875 OR 25 April 1879 ( two different records show different birth dates). He was a doctor and probably served in the Royal Navy. I have tried getting information on navy search and other royal navy websites etc. with no results He abandoned ship and went to Bombay india. His mother was originally from Lisbon and belonged to the Baptist family. I have no idea about his parents names & not sure where he was born (Portugal or UK)
hope to get some clues.

Hello

You indicate that you have 2 different birth dates on 'records' what are the source of these records?

Do you know who he married and the year, this will assist in doing a worldwide search

Thank you for your reply. The two records are marriage certificate and mortuary card. I have the marriage certificate but it's of not much help. Now I do have his parents names.
