WILLIAM MARSHALL
I have been stuck for years trying to find a birth/baptism record for William Marshall. William married Maria Lobley 20/11/1692 in Ryther parish in Yorkshire. He was buried in Ryther in 1719. From several other leads (wills, naming patterns and family groupings), I believe that William was the son of Thomas Marshall and Mary (surname unknown) , and that he had a sister Grace Marshall who, I believe, was baptised in Bolton Percy parish in the Ainsty to Thomas of Appleton in 1676).
William would most likely have been born around 1660-1670 in the Ainsty area of Yorkshire. There are no records in the Ryther or Bolton Percy registers.
I would also like to find the marriage record for William's possible father, Thomas Marshall to Mary circa 1657 to 1670 in the same area. I believe that Thomas was himself born in 1637 in Colton (Bolton Percy parish). I have reason to believe that he may have been a tenant on the estate of sir Thomas Fairfax on his nun appleton estate.

The only resource availble is the familysearch.org site, which I personally only use for4 guidance of where a record maybe, then sourcing the relevant record at the Record Office or LDS centre
