Thread: Hugh Kerr

Hi, I have hit my brick wall with Hugh Kerr my gg randfather born c1816 in Ireland, married to Jane Roberts in Liverpool Lancashire in 1835. I cannot find any reference to where he was born in Ireland or his death in England. He was a cooper by profession I think as I think he was living with a family called Atkinson on the 1841 census. I would appreciate any help at all. Thank you Zachman

Whinnerah ( I think that is what it is) Street
KERR Hugh 25 Cooper I
KERR Jane 25 Servant b in county
KERR Sarah 5 not sure whether it is servant or scholar b in county

Have you looked at the ATKINSON family only I note that the wife also came from Ireland, and the son is also a cooper, relatives?

I think it's Chisenhale Street, Elsa and Zachman.

It's written more legibly on the top left hand corner of the original census form.

Thanks Fin, you'r correct I looked at the enumerators description of the census! Should have done that first time round.....
