My gg grandmother according to all censuses was born in "Scotland" in 1860 although she married my g. grandfather in West Derby. She was married for the first time to a "John Jones, joiner" in West Derby Liverpool. She states that her father is "Thomas Anderson, painter". There were only 6 Lucy Andersons born in Scotland within a five year period.
1. 1855 born in Heriot Edinburgh , father Ethan.
2. 1859 born Dundee father David
3. 1865 (too young b. Fife, father William
4. 1859 Lucy Hyde Anderson, Aberdeen, father Capt. Thomas Anderson (mother Josephine Lascelles (too posh - the Lascelles are related to the Royal Family)
5. 1865 Lucy Margaret b. Forres, Moray father William Anderson, painter.
6. 1857 Lucy in the 1861 census, age 4 b. Kilmarnock, no father, mother a bonnet knitter (too young and no father)
I thought I had cracked it with Number 5 - all seemed to fit - perhaps he was a William Thomas. But I was wrong when I found out that this Lucy married a William Wood Duncan .
I am at a loss as to where to search now. I have all the rest of the family - except Lucy!
I have been through every census in Liverpool without any luck.
