Hi Heather
If you let us know any names or dates of those family members you already have it will help members look for those you are missing.
Rubina
hi rubina, its actually a annie wotherspoon born 1863 in kilbirnie married a benjamin west spence in stevenston ayrshire in 1885 where they moved to paisley as ben was on board a steamship that sank and he died, its really his birth cert that i am looking for, i have been through the usual channels but can find nothing, so i thought if i went through the wotherspoons i might find someone that has that info
heather

There are a number of results for the family you are interested in on the site below. I have no credits left to view. 30 credits will cost you about £6.00

Hi Whiteheather!
Several questions!
Have you found any of the family on any census?
I have found Annie as an 8 year old with Father Thomas - do you know her parents names?)
I have found Annie on 1891 census with one child (described as wife so I guess Benjamin was on board ship at the time)
I have found Annie on 1901 census with several children (described as head so guess Benjamin had died by this time)
If you have Annie and Benjamin's marriage certificate?
Does it give you their parent's names and occupations?
Their are several births on Family Search for a Benjamin Spence but would need his parent's names to pin him down.
What was the name of the steamboat he was on when he died?
If you don't have access to the census I will post details of those I have found.

thanks rubina
annies fathers name was thomas wotherspoon and jean fyfe she was born out of wedlock but they married soon after
1891 census, benjamin was on board steamship strathblane at that time
he then came home had 2 more children and joined steamship abydos which sank of the calf of man and all lives were lost,
on annie and benjamins marriage cert it says they lived in stevenston ayrshire where they were married they must then have moved to paisley, on the cert it says his father was john spence and his mother ann louisa brown both dec,d and that he father was a merchant in st vincents west indies, this is my problem i cant find where benjamin was born or where his parents were married i have been on scotlands people and cant find anything on them

hi rubina, i have managed to get all the info on the abydos ive even been in touch with somebody who also lost there gr grandfather, thanks, benjamin was born about 1860-61 i know he has a middle name benjamin west spence as i have a newpaper clipping of his death. benjamin at his marriage in 1885 was 24 and that he died in 1894 in his 33rd year so i think 1864 would not be the right one
regards heather
