Hi,
I am researching my family SINGS / SINGE from Cornwall and Devon, but can find no earlier information than stated below.
The earliest I have is my eight x great grandfather DANIEL SINGE / SINGS, I have no idea when or where he was born or who he was married to.
I have found two leases in his name dated 1694 and 1696 from the manor of Tremadart, Cornwall, so I would think that he was either from Cornwall or Devon.
I know that he had several children, including my seven x great grandfather DANIELL SINGE / SINGS,
I do not know when he was born, but he married JONE DOWNINGE 3rd November 1692 Duloe, Cornwall and he died 5th October 1715 Duloe, Cornwall.
JONE DOWNINGE died 22nd September 1729.
I have had a look at some of the manorial rolls for the manor of Bodbrane, Cornwall, and there are mentions of DANIELL and JONE SINGS, but I can`t find anything on DANIEL SINGS ( senior ).
Daniel SINGS ( senior ) had the lease for Penbugle Minor, Duloe, and the named lives included
DANIELL SINGS ( yonger ) who I believe took over Penbugle Minor on the death of his father, but I can find no record of DANIEL SINGS ( senior ) or his wife in the manorial rolls.
I would have thought that when he or his wife had died this information would have been written in the manorial rolls.
I would love to find more on the SINGS / SINGE and DOWNINGE family, but am stuck, so any help or advice would be most appreciated.
Many Thanks.
John Sings.
