James Keating born Dublin abt 1842
I have been researching by husband's great-grandfather for many years. I have his death certificate dated 13th July 1895 (he died of an accident in Arrowtown, New Zealand) and it states that his parents were James and Elizabeth and that his father was a merchant. He was born in Dublin, Ireland and had been in N.Z. 30 years. and his age was 56. So far I haven't been able to find him as a passenger to N.Z. Perhaps being Irish " he slid down a rainbow"
The only other information I have is that he had a brother William who also came to New Zealand. When he died 16th January 1908, his age was given as 69 making him born about 1839. There is another person who I think is a brother, Thomas, who also came to N.Z. He died 30th June 1910 aged 79 which would make him born about 1831.
The reason I think they are brothers is because they were living in the same district and James named his two sons, Thomas and William.
Any help regarding these three would be greatly appreciated.
