I am trying to find information on Gustav and Sophie Wauschkuhn. They lived in Konigsberg, East Prussia during WW11. Sophie was burned in a fire or bombing in 1944. Gustav buried her and used to take my father to sweep off her grave when he was little. I think she was buried in West Germany as the whole city of Konigsberg was destroyed during the bombing. I think Gustav went to live in West Germany, but I don't know where or what happened to him. They had 2 daughters named Ella Erna Katharina Wauschkuhn Wittke, mom father's mother and Klara WAuschkuhn Burandt. Ella was born around 1913 and died around Sept 1956. I would like to know what she died from. She was cremated and not buried, my father never picked up her remains, he left for the United States. Gustav might have went to live with Klara in West Germany because her husband, Mr. Burandt had died early on. I would also like to know if possible Gustav's parents names and if at all possible Sophie's maiden name and her parents. I think Gustav was the Chief of Police in Konigsberg during and before the war. My father said he was the people's police. Any information would be greatly appreciated, I have come to a wall.
Thank you in advance,
Yvonne Wittke
