Thread: What happened to john "reid" McDonald?

Hi, I have hit a brick wall in my search for John McDonald Born 1893 scotland(possibly Dundoon)
John Mcdonald's father was Charles Mcdonald, Mother Elizabeth Reid (Charles and Elizabeth married in 1899 scotland).
John McDonald married Jean White on may 22 1918. Perth Scotland.
On the marriage cert it said he stayed in logierait perth Scotland, but was presently at barry camps, barry Scotland. John Mcdonald and Jean white had 3 children together John Mcdonald (g grandfather), Elizabeth Mcdonald and Jean Mcdonald. (3 children I know for definate, but I heard they could have had 5 children together)
I later learned that Jean white later married or at least lived with a J foxton whom she had more children with.

After His marriage to Jean white in 1918, Ther is no trace of John McDonald. I have spend numerous months and credits searching on scotlandspeople for his death cert.
Could someone please help me find out what happened to him after 1918?

Any help/info would e appreciated.

Yes His parents got married in 1899(Charles Mcdonald and Elizabeth Reid). They were travellers/gypsies. (not sure if that helps though)
John "reid" McDonald married Jean White in 1918 but they also had a child born before they were married. My Gr grandfather John Mcdonald was born in 1915, 3 years before his parents John and Jean were married.
My gr grand father john Mcdonald died in 1940, On his death cert it says his father John "reid" McDonald is deceased. However I am unsure if this is fact!? The reason being I have searched scotlandspeople for John "reid" McDonald between 1918-1940 and still unable to find him. I did come accross an image for his birth. He was born in argyll. I did think maybe he wasn't registered dead (as not all gypsy/travellers register family members) But i thought if he was registered born then surely they would have registered him dead?!

Sorry just notice a typing error.. john "reid" McDonald was actually born in 1892 not 1893..
