I am researching Facey , My maternal grandfather. I have gone back to James Facey born app 1820 at times lived at1 Sebborn Street ,Islington East. London Middlesex. he had three marriages but where was he born? Who were his parents?

Also A brick wall is at Emma Billingtonm born 1858 iat St Pancras. Died 1908 (as Emma Selina Perkins) in Islington She married in 1880 to Joseph Perkins, on the marriage certificate her father 's name is John billington . I know her mother died about 1870 /71/72 and would like to know who her parents were and where they originated from.

Have you found James on the 1841 census? This is one potential I found:

Islington East, 1841, Ref: H0107 664 10 24 33
Mary Kearns 80
Mary Facey 40
James Facey 20
Elizabeth Facey 20
George 16 mo
Richard 1

You say that James married three times - was Elizabeth his first wife?

Is it possible that Mary (aged 40) is his Mother?

As you know his marriages, do you have his father's name/occ?

Only just got back on here --Thanks Rubina I am sure this is correct , I think Elizabeth was his first wife and I did find her miother's name if I rememnber rightly on the latter Day Saints site some time ago ,and do not have the certificates . Elizabeth though I assertained as Elizabeth Windsor and in the same way as this one she appeared to be living in the home ( presumeably to help with the childern of which there were three, (Elizabeth must have died in childbirth) In later censuses she is still there at the age of 61 as a "charwoman".
I will check on your names here though as this is earlier than I have found and yea, it looks as thiough this was his mothere although with a duifferent name ,did he have a previous wife and these woman were her sister and mother? .

Just had a look for James and found one listed marriage saved to SARAH Windsor...James a Batchelor.... with the saved record of amarriage to Johanna, is this your man?

Marriages Mar 1846
Facey James Islington 3/170
Windsor Sarah Islington 3/170

Both marriages are on A******* and have father as John Facey
1846 Sailor
1855 Painter

They have also saved 1841 as above
