My great grandfather James Williams
Jame williams born 25th september 1860 signed on the navy for ten years in 1878 hard to read but was at sea before then as his second trip ended march 1876 , records end July 1881
but was on the HMS Ganges when he married in Falmouth april 1883 age given 26 gave his fathers name as John Williams occupation miller,
he married Annie Paull born 1857c parish of voge st day cornwall have yet to trace her birth but got her on the 1881 census.
James Wiliams died Gloucester 1909 age given as 47 A Isabella Williams was present at the death gave her address in Bristol same as she did in the 1901 census
In the 1911 census she as some of James children living with her a niece and nephew, so I take it they were her brothers children their mother Annie Williams was still in Gloucester
I have a birth cert for a Isabella Williams born Dartford Kent 1866 Father William Williams occupation collier mother Ann Williams formerly Campbell
I have a couple of birth certs for James Williams's
1 James John Williams date of birth 25 sept 1859 which matches the date on the navel record born Gravesend Kent, father William Williams occupation mariner mother Mary Ann Williams formerly Choiles have looked on the 1871 census for them found them but no Isabella with them
2 James Williams date of birth 11th sept 1861 born Dartford mother Jane Williams formerly Williams father James Williams
occupation coachman
census I have for James Williams 1881 age 21 birth Gravesend Kent, 1891 age 33 birth Bristol and 1901 age 45 birth St Pauls Gravesend Kent
so James Williams as given 4 different years of birth 1856,1858,1860, 1862
my grandmother was their daughter Maud Williams born Gloucester 1890
I have tried to explain it all as well as I can would be very grateful for any help thank you Annabel
