I have discovered that my 3 x great grandfather was Edward Daniel who married Nancy Heald c1803 (according to the IGI). Unfortunately the IGI doesn't take me any further back than Edward who it says was from Blackburn born c1778. His occupation was a Cotton Manufacturer in Manchester.
I have (via FMP) discovered Edward and Nancy's grave in Over Peover in Cheshire where they are buried with one of their children Edward Heald Daniel. The gravestone and the parish record from St Lawrence, Over Peover state that Edward died in 1836 aged 56 which makes his birth year 1780 not 1778 as suggested by the IGI.
I have proved Edward and Nancy's marriage from information I have obtained from Edwards will and also the wills of Nancy's grandfather John Hindle and her uncle Thomas Hindle, both of Sharples in Bolton. To date however I haven't found a parish record anywhere for this marriage.
With Edwards grave being in Cheshire it suggests to me that he was born in that area and not Blackburn. There is a parish record in nearby Alderley of the baptism of an Edward Daniel in January 1780 which I am fairly confident is him but I would very much like to find some evidence to prove that they are one and the same person.
If anyone has any info or any ideas that I maybe haven't tried please let me know.
Thanks
Graham
