Thread: Haworth

Looking for any info on John Haworth around 1845 in Accrington Parents John Haworth 1816 Haslingden and Catherine Harker 1819 Accrington .Now John is in the 1851 census age 6 name misspell as Howorth and very bad to read , now in the 1861 Census he is not there I have scrambled my brain trying to find him. did he go into lodgings did he died or was he just misplaced in the 61 census. I have found a John with a misspell name in the 1871 census married to Mary Ann ? Hope you can help in some way Thanks

So I am thinking that this is the family that you have on the 1851 Census and when followed through to the 1861, both Thomas and John are not shown with the rest of the family.

As Haworth is a really common surname in this area, as I am sure you have found – I did do a newspaper check to see if I could identify a death between 1851 and 1861 or a later marriage for a John of the right sort of age – but could find none.
