I want to check out who the father of the bride, hopefully it will be William Steele Watkin. The bride was Gladys Watkin and the groom was Ernest Upsall Stubbs they married in Grimsby in the last quarter of 1924.
    I would appreciate any help
    Many thanks

Hello Rita, all I can tell you about your Stubbs/Watkin marriage is that they were married 29th October 1924 in St James Church Grimsby (now Grimsby Minster). But if it is of any interest to you I have found 2 marriages for William Steel Watkin in Grimsby one in 1902 and one in 1899.

If you would like these or would like me to look for any others please let me know.

Hello again Rita.....do you know if Gladys had a brother called Cyril and was William Steele Watkin a gardener? If so this is the same family.

Gladys Watkin married at St James Church.....St Pauls Church served the same area,it was just a matter of choice, aithough St James Church was much older and was always the "top" church for Grimsby

St Pauls Church Grimsby 1925 Sep 06
WATKIN Cyril age 24, labourer of 30 Freshney St, s/o William Steel, gardener
MASCELL Clara Ellen age 20, same address, d/o Herbert John Garthwaite, deal carrier
Wits:- William Steel WATKIN and Doris GREEN

    Hope this helps

    Sheila.

    Sheila

Thanks a lot. Cyril was Agnes's brother. She also had a brother William Steele Watkin. The 2 marriages you found were for their father, sadly his first wife,Jane Elizabeth Johnson, died the year after the marriage. We have the details of his second marraige, but thanks for the offer.

    Rita
