Thread: Thomas Patten

I am looking for information about the parents of thomas patten born in stockport, cheshire about 1800.
He worked as a silk weaver and then in 1824 joined the army. In 1849 he came to New Zealand with his wife Mary and daughter as a Fencible. No body seems to know who his parents were, or his exact birth date. But the name Robert Patten has been suggested as his father although no evidence of this exists. my father tried to contact several patten families in stockport in the 1980's but no one was interested in helping, perhaps someone may be willing to help now???
