    Default Moulsdale name

    Hi all

I am trying to find a record or info re my gt gt grandma Jane Lythgoe born 1804, Tyldsley, I think her mother was Alice Lythgoe but no father is mentioned on the birth record. What I have found is a will made by Joseph Moulsdale who died 1841, Runcorn, in it he names jane as his daughter who married Elijah lever, problem is her name in the will is Jane Moulsdale.

I am presuming jane is Josephs illegitimate daughter but I would like proof, any Moulsdales out there who can help with this problem

    thanks

    Laurie

    Good evening Laurie

I have been having a look at Joseph for you and can confirm his death as ...

Deaths Sep 1841 MOULSDALE Joseph Runcorn vol XIX page 155
which means he definately should be on the 1841 census somewhere

Dear Laurie- I hope you dont mind if I ask a few questions?

Do you have any dates or places for Ellijah. I have found a few and its preferable to narrow them down ?
Do you have any dates for Alice and I am assuming we are talking about Wigan for her?
You mention that Jane married Ellijah but do you know where and when?
Do you have any other details for Joseph as again I have found a few and would live to narrow them down?
Do you have a transcription of the will?

Hi All, thanks for all your efforts, to answer some of your questions, Elijah married Jane 1832, Tyldsley and died in a workhouse 1874, Jane died 1844 just after her daughter Jane, my gt grandmother was born. Joseph Moulsdale is a witness at their marriage. I have no information on Alice. Joseph Moulsdale ws born 1752 and died 1841, he was married to Ann? in the will it states that Joseph had a daughter Jane Moulsdale who married Elijah Lever of Tyldsley. I have the birth cert for Janes daughter born 1844 and it states mothers maiden name was Lythgoe and her son born 1833 is named Joseph Moulsdale Lever. I have a copy of the will which runs to 3 pages, it was posted on ancestry in 2004, there is no mention of any more children to Joseph. I have tried contacting the person but no reply.

Don't you love a good mystery

    Laurie
