I presume because you mention that WESLEY may have emigrated pre 1911 you have checked the census, have you checked it for Lena and child in the Leeds area?

Yes, She is in the 1911 census in Leeds , but just with the small child, and her employers. Not stated as widowed. Which drew my attention to the migration lists.
Is it possible to check Canadaian sources -after arrival? What happened if they (a) died, (b) moved on to an other country?

Sorry for the delay in replying, my machine wasnt set to trigger. Yes this is the couple, Lena stayed on in Leeds as a Houskeeper, firstly to a Minister & his wife in 1911, where I think she stayed 10 years.
