    Smile Robert Lovell Magrath & Anna Balfour MacLoghlin

    Robert is my g-g-grandfather and he and Anna (Anne) married in Dublin in C of I in 1835. He was born 1800/1801 and she a little later in Kilcarn Co Meath, where it is understood from her obituary the family owned extensive property. I am having difficulty in finding out where they were both born, the Church in which they were married and details of their parents and siblings. I think a family name of Folliott may be involved somewhere in Dublin but can find no further information. They relocated to Liverpool in about 1836 and later moved to Australia in 1850. There may be a connection with the Isle of Man but this is uncertain.

    There a few references to him and always a Francis Jordan Jun. A couple are references to dividends and they are listed bankcrupt

    Thank you noggin28 for the census information about Robert Lovell Magrath. Do you have any information about Folliott Magrath who could be related to Robert ? Robert named his first son Bolton Marcus Folliott Magrath so I expect some connection there.

    Thank you for the information. It is possible there is a connection with my g-grandfather Bolton Marcus Folliott Magrath and the "Folliott"s you mention. It would be great to find the connection. Do you know of any way to access the Parish records for St Michan's church ? It is also possible, though rather a long shot, that Robert Lovell Magrath was married in that church. It would appear that records for the churches are not readily available.

    St Michan's is Church of Ireland. Information on the Church of Ireland website suggests the records may be accessible on the state funded irish genealogy site.
