Thread: Michael Chatterton

Hi,
I am researching the Chatterton family from Lincolnshire. I have got to Michael Chatterton born 1811 and know his father was John Chatterton [1781-1828] and his mother was Elizabeth Brown.
I can not find any birth or death certificate for John, and although I feel he really came from Lincolnshire also believe he may have come from Yorkshire. It has been suggested that his father was also John and his mother was Sarah but there is no documentation I can find to prove this.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Source IGI: John Chatterton m. Elizabeth Brown 22 June 1806 at Long Sutton Lincs.
There is also a baptism of John Chatterton 1 April 1781 at St Nicholas Church, Sutton, Lincs to parents John and Sarah.

I can't find any suitable records for marriage of John and Sarah 1770 +/- 10 yrs or bapts for John in Sutton around 1755 +/- 10 yrs but there are some in other parts of Lincs.

Is this your Michael CHATTERTON on the 1851 census H107 2096 40 8 married to Louisa.

How do you know Michael's parents maybe John CHATTERTON & Elizabeth BROWN, they are not readily identifiable on the early census returns.
