Hi all.
Where on the Nat archives can I find court martials. I suspect wifes grandfather may have underwent one, in dublin 1920 1922. He was a CSM yet pensioned of as a private.
Grateful for any help. Jimbo

Many thanks for your reply Esabels.
I am aware of the lost or burnt records. None the less, I feel that Court Martial records should have come under the MOD Judge Advocates Office,& would be laying around somewhere.
Where you aware that each Regiment kept a 'Army Book 585" soldiers records. I have contacted the South Lancashire Regiments Museum & received a copy of a page with wifes Grandfather records of service. Unfortunately no mention of a Court martial.
When he went to ireland in 1920, he was a colour Sergent Major. Yet, when discharged in 1926 at Hilsea Barracks Portsmouth. He was discharged as a private. So something must have happened between Ireland & his dischrge.
