samuel newcombe was the father of caroline elizabeth an important figure in the early settlemrnt of the Bellerine Peninsular, Victoria, Aus. All we know of samuel is that he was a clerk to the spanish commissariat , was married to a sarah o'connor and was lost at sea probably in the early 1800's or late 1790's. can any one fill in the gaps?
