Thread: brecon criminal court records in the 1940s

My great grandmother Annie Maud Peters nee Williams was tried and found guilty of a crime in the late 1940's, she served time in Brecon Gaol before she was later cleared of the charges. I asked the Powys archives if they held the transcripts but they said they didnt. Does anyone know how I can get hold of the trial records.

Thanks for that Genie, I know she was in a relatively local prison as she was so well known and everyone knew locally that she was innocent and that the man in charge of the prison wouldnt put her in a cell and had her live with them so I just assumed it was Brecon Gaol. Easy mistake to make.
