Default John Perkins 1841 and 1851

Hello, I wonder if some kind soul can lend a pair of eyes?!

I have found John Perkins on censuses from 1861 to 1901. I can't seem to find a 'match' for him on the 1841 or 1851 census (prior to his marriage)

    Info from 1861:
DOB 1821, Place of birth: Rumny, Monmouthshire

    Info from 1871:
DOb 1822, Place of birth: Glamorganshire

    Info from 1881:
DOB 1818, Place of birth: Glamorganshire

    Info from 1891:
DOB 1842 (!! His 1st child was born c. 1854!), Place of birth: Rumney, Monmouthshire

    Info from 1901:
DOB 1818, Place of birth: Rhymney, Glamorganshire

He was a collier all his life, and his marriage certificate states his father was John Perkins and that he was born in 1821.

Any help would be gratefully received!

    Many Thanks,

    Mrsp

    Hello mrsp2008

Can you give us the census references, I think Rhymney is near Tredegar and Rumney Cwbran!

Used to go past this area on the way to Swansea, known as the heads of the valley road, we lived in Abergavenny for a while.
Is Evan his first son in 1861? Just looking at where Evan was born to see where he might be 1851 and there is quite a gap in ages between him and Mary. Was he a batchelor when he married?
    Elaine

Looking for Moore/Ward mainly Leicester, Elsden/Elsdon Essex way and where is Gertrude Wills???

    Hi,

Thank you all for your replies! Kptz, I'm afraid 1851 census doesn't fit as he didn't marry until 1853. He was a bachelor when he married. They married in Ystradgynlais parish church and witnesses were George Harries and Mary Nicholas.

Elsabels, I don't know how to find the census references. All I've got is

    1861-RG9/4088 page 2
    1871- RG10/5433 page 26
    1881-RG11/5343 page 10
    1891-RG12/4463 page 32
    1901- RG13/5058

    Many Thanks again,

    MrsP
