Thread: Looking for parents of George Malloch

First post, here goes.

George Malloch/Mulloch/Mullach/Malloch is my 2nd great grandfather. He was born around 1820 in Scotland.
I've found him in English 1861/1871 and 1881 censuses.
He married Elisabeth Anderson/Henderson in St Cuthbert's, Edinburgh on 27 Sept 1850.
He has always been a stone mason.
I can find no mention of him in the 1841 and 1851 censuses, both England and Scotland.
I would love to find his parents.

Their marriage cert should give you his fathers name, which will help in the search.

The Scottish certificate I have does not state the father of the groom, only the father of the bride.
The familysearch reference is to the certificate I already have, it also doesn't mention any father of the groom.

I have answered my own question, there are details on line of the will Of George that shows his daughter as Executrix and living in Dundee, is this the link?

The family moved south sometime between 1853 when Susan was born & George was b circa 1855, so the census details you have for England are the only ones you will find!

The eldest child was b circa 1851/52 in Scotland.....just cannot get on the SP, brain not functioning sufficiently to recall logged on details

If they didn't leave Scotland until about 1853, why aren't they listed in the 1851 Scotland census? I find that puzzling (and frustrating).
Also, I've search the 1851 for all mason born around around 1820 to see if a similar name was used. No luck though.
I knew about the will, that came "online" just recently.

Now back to the drinking
