Thanks welshlady
Know very little re family.Have traced parents but children are hard to find.Four baptised Wawne and five in Beverly.John the son may be Johnson who was baptised 14 Jun 1811 Beverley but could also possibly be son John baptised 23 Jun 1805 Wawne.Does he show up in later census?
Is the age of John the son(30) accurate? The parents ages have not been rounded up or down so his should not be?Is this a reasonable assumption or wishful thinking?

Ed,
This is all I can find other than the 1841 census info above,
There are only 35 persons listed on the 1841 census for Beverley

Hi Jean
This family is really hidden.Managed to find one daughter who died Wawne and another born Beverley who married William Caley in Skirlaugh and appears to have died Sculcoates in 1853.I guess I am going to have to look at Beverley parish regs.

I did a name /countrywide search on familysearch for your PLOWMAN family, nearly 4000 came up, and Yorkshire is at the end, start around no 3150.....
Found these baptisms.... father is John PLOWMAN
PLOWMAN George Johnson 24/04/1796 Wawne
PLOWMAN Ruth 12/05/1799 Wawne
PLOWMAN Jane 25/031802 Wawne
PLOWMAN John 23/06/1805 Wawne
you then have
John PLOWMAN & Mary
Henry Harper 1810
Johnson 1811
William 1812
Jane Johnson 1816
this probably now ties in with the John & Polly marriage..... I had an gt Aunt Polly who was born Mary Ann, so I think I can understand the logic of the marriage?
The distance between the 2 villages is approx 8 miles, as the crow flies over the fields a lot less....
genuki.co.uk may help
