    Exclamation Greetings

ANY INFORMATION FOUND ON THOSE STILL LIVING MUST BE SENT VIA PM
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Greetings, one of my brick walls is finding out the ancestry (parents & grandparents) of my grandmother's brother's wife. It's frustrating because his wife is still living and members of my family and I have written to ask her and her children - they all live in Ireland. We are located in the U.S. so the distance makes it somewhat difficult - so far we've received no responses. When I visited there during the 80s with my grandmother (while she and her brother were still living) we talked about this very subject and by putting all the information together during conversation, I identified the fact that my grandmother's brother was the 3rd cousin of his wife. We weren't recording any of these pieces of information at that time, unfortunately. My grandmother, Johanna "Hanna" Theresa Herliy was born in 1905 at Aghacarrible (some spellngs are seen as Aughacarrible) near Lispole, Kerry (Kinard civil parish). Her youngest brother, Patrick (Paudeen) Herlihy, born there in 1912, inherited the farm and he married Mary Ashe. It's this Mary Ashe's ancestry we'd like information about. My grandmother guessed she was born about 1922, but we're unsure of that date. I remember discussions of Minard as well as Kinard, but that may have been surrounding who's buried where and/or our distant relation to Gregory Peck, the actor, so again, we're unsure of exactly where Mary was born. My grandmother and her brother were born to Thomas Herlihy (b. 1872 Aghacarrible) and another Mary Ashe (b. 1873 in Doonties West, Minard to Gregory Ashe (b. 1840) and Mary Griffin (b. 1851). My grandmother worked for her Uncle on his farm, called Greenfields, where many Ashe's were living/born, etc., so it's possible the Mary Ashe I'm looking for information on could be a relative of the folks from Greenfields and/or the Mary Ashe from Minard. I'm sorry I don't recall the first name of my grandmother's Uncle Ashe that she worked for - this would have likely been just prior to 1925, when she emigrated to the U.S. Any information you can find and provide about Mary Ashe, the wife of Patrick (Paudeen) Herlihy of Aghacarrible, would be accepted with so much gratitude and relief! Please let me know if there is any further infomation I may be able to provide as you search. Again, thank you for such a great kindness with the Big Help Requests.

    Question

Hi Marion, what does "pm" mean and how may I go about that? We actually recently did receive addtional information from a cousin in Ireland, so perhaps I could either add more to my request with those names as those particular folks are deceased. Thanks for your guidance - I am fairly new to this.

Thanks, for the explanation Marion. I'll post a new message listing the folks we recently found were the living relative's parents and see if anyone can offer help. Again, thanks for helping out a rookie!
